A nursing home in North Cork has an opportunity for an Assistant Director of Nursing, ADON to support the management Team.

Role:

To support the Director of Nursing in the management of staff and the provision of resident care to ensure the highest professional standards, using evidence based person-centred approach. This is a hands on role that requires flexibly and adaptability to ensure that all work practices meet the criteria in accordance with The National Standards For Residential Settings For Older People & The Care & Welfare Of Older Persons in Residential Settings Regulations. To establish and maintain relationships with residents that are based on respect and equality and that promote their independence.



Required:

Have the ability to manage one's own workload effectively while responding flexibly to new demands at short notice.
Embrace change and be committed to continuous improvement and learning throughout the nursing home.
Be available to work flexible hours when required.
Utilise excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence others, build constructive relationships and achieve outcomes.
Promote an ethos and culture of quality assurance within the clinical area, identifying and establishing benchmarks and KPIs in consultation with the Director of Nursing.
Provide support to the Director of Nursing in the effective management and day to day leadership of the Nursing Home.
Provide cover for the Director of Nursing for holidays and other necessitated absences from the Home.
Have a full and thorough knowledge of the resident's medical and social needs and ensure that the nursing care provided is of the highest standard and supports best practice at all times.
Assist in the management of staff and have a thorough knowledge of staff members and their skills and attributes.
Ensure compliance with the relevant statutory regulations and standards applicable to the Nursing Home.
Communicate openly and clearly with the Director of Nursing, Registered Providers and General Manager to ensure the Nursing Home operates efficiently and effectively and that the correct resources are provided at all times.
Maximise bed occupancy through the effective management of resources.
