Our client an established hospital in North Dublin wishes to recruit a Clinical Nurse Specialist Peri-operative/Peri-procedure.

* The CNS in Peri-operative/Peri-procedure care will be part of a multidisciplinary team within the hospital responsible for the overall care of patients who attend areas within the hospital who receive general anaesthetic or sedation.
* They will demonstrate a caring competent manner to instill patient confidence and contribute to an environment that is centred on the needs of patients.
* They will demonstrate an ability to interpret and promote evidence based practice within the field of anaesthesia, as this is a specialised area of nursing which is constantly advancing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
*The CNS in Peri-Operative and Peri-Procedure care has a pivotal role in the co-ordination and management of anaesthetic, sedation, peri-operative, and peri-procedure services throughout the hospital
*The person holding this post is required to support the principle of patient centred care the patient comes first at all times and will approach their work with the flexibility and enthusiasm necessary to make this principle a reality for every patient to the greatest possible degree, whilst working as part of the Nursing Team.
*The post holder will need to be proactive in pioneering and developing the role in response to the challenges around on going healthcare needs of those who attend the service.

Essential Qualifications
*Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
*Formal recognised post-registration education relevant to the area of specialist practice (Anaesthetics) at level 8 (Higher Diploma) according to the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework
*Candidates without the relevant post-graduate level 8 specialist course will be appointed as Clinical Nurse Manager II initially, but must agree to complete within an agreed timeframe

Essential Experience
*5 years post-registration experience in the acute hospital setting within the last 7 years.
*A minimum of 2 years experience in the specialist area - Theatre

* Good IT skills
