Our client a multi-centre private eye clinic group with a vision to provide each and every patient with optimal eyesight and eye health through excellence in eye care is expanding and hiring a Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon in Ireland

Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon is a full-time permanent role to complement an existing Team of 7 Consultants.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be able to further develop their vitreoretinal career and shape vitreoretinal services for the future. Recognised as an international centre of excellence in clinical trials and currently a trial site for a Phase 2 gene therapy trial for geographic atrophy, Phase 3 Port Delivery System for wet AMD, artificial intelligence enriched OCT segmentation study and host to numerous industry sponsored investigator initiated studies.

Minimum Commitment: 4 Days per week

Salary: Flexible (Depending on experience) + Bonus

Person Specification:

Essential
* Registered or eligible to register under the division of "Ophthalmic Surgery" with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
* FRCOphth or equivalent

Experience within Ophthalmology

Comprehensive experience in General Ophthalmology

* Recognised subspecialty fellowship or strong evidence of subspeciality practice


Desirable
* Extensive subspecialty experience in vitreoretinal surgery
* Clinical research experience
* Competent cataract surgeon
