Epos Product Owner
Our highly respected, innovative technology client provide IT services and solutions to over 450 customers in retail across Ireland and Globally. They provide web, mobile, IT infrastructure, EPOS and third party systems to our customers with a wide focus on various technologies and delivery models. They have multiple exciting active IT projects at the moment and for the foreseeable future with our growing Irish and international customer base.
Due to expansion of their Global Network and the launch of an exciting innovative new retail digital platform using AI they are looking to recruit an Epos Specialist to work with International resellers on their Epos systems. Candidates must have strong retail EPOS specialist experience.
This position requires a self-motivated professional with experience of using, administering and supporting an electronic point-of-sale (EPOS) system for a group of retail outlets. Candidates are expected to be the subject matter expert for all aspects of the EPOS system. The position will work closely with the off-shore software development team and be responsible for defining requirements for the system, reviewing the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of the system, prioritising the work to implement versions of EPOS, testing features released by the development team and setting out the roadmap of features for the future.
Essential requirements of the role
3+ years' experience in using, managing and being the main owner of an EPOS system for a large chain of retail outlets
Ability to clearly and concisely document features and requirements of the EPOS system and articulate how the system should work from a user perspective.
Experience in managing planograms, setting up EPOS features for stores, testing out new features of EPOS software as a user.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills along with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide your own work under minimal supervision.
Document requirements and explain required new features from a user perspective.
Document how the user will use the system or use new features as "user stories" explaining the type of user in question, the actions they perform and the outputs from the system.
Ensure user stories are "ready" for the development team to implement in software.
Ensures each story has the correct acceptance criteria.
Prepare, manage, and prioritise the product feature and issue backlog.
Closely collaborate with the development team, answering questions, providing clarification and representing the user/customer in all interactions.
Work closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the right customer problem is solved.
Test software releases as the customer or user to ensure the features match expectations and meet acceptance criteria.
Provide input to sales collateral, product documentation, training documentation and user guides on the system.
Contribute to long-term product roadmap planning and strategy.
Our client are looking for an EPOS product owner with plenty of retail domain expertise for our Dublin office to act as the customer/user with the development team. The ideal candidate should have excellent EPOS and communications skills demonstrated by 3+ years' experience in EPOS administration or management roles in a large retail organisation
