Medical Scientist - Histopathology


Permanent Full-Time Position


A well respected hospital in Limerick, Ireland is currently looking to recruit an experienced Medical Scientist - Histopathology into the Laboratory.

Post: Full-time permanent position

Hours of work: 37 per week, flexibility around rostered working days and times is an inherent part of the post

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals who possess the following:

* A Degree in Biomedical Science, specialising in Histopathology (as recognised by the
ACSLM)
* Possess membership of, or be eligible for membership of, the Academy of Clinical
Science & Laboratory Medicine
* Registered for CORU (medical scientist register).
* Previous experience with working in a clinical pathology laboratory is essential.
* Must be competent in Embedding, Microtomy and staining techniques.
* Have excellent technical ability together with the necessary skills to develop a strong
histology function
* Have excellent interpersonal/communication skills
* Demonstrate planning and organisational skills
* Demonstrate flexibility to work within a team, in a busy environment
* Have good IT skills
* To practice within and support the Bon Secours Mission and Values, policies,
procedures, guidelines and new initiatives as directed / introduced by the hospital
