A healthcare company in Dublin North is recruiting a Practice Development Nurse

The Practice Development Nurse reports to the Director of Nursing and to the Group Clinical Lead on Quality. The purpose of the role is to develop, implement and lead on clinical practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and lead on clinical practice within a nursing home environment.
Lead and support the person-centred care within the home and that the care of the residents comes first at all times,
Promote an environment for professional nursing practice which is consistent with the mission, vision and values of the home.
Manage the nursing staff in clinical education to ensure that the delivery of high standards of care, which is resident focused.
Review and enhance the current induction program for all clinical staff.
Ensure that there is clinical mentorship available for all staff in the home.
Develop and review an education rollout programme in relation to policies and procedures.
Develop up to date person centred nursing and carer practices through care processes, which enhance clinical effectiveness and resident out comes.
Support the professional development of nursing staff within the home.
Review and update policies in line with the required time lines for HIQA.
Ensure all infection prevention policies and procedures are updated in line with current guidance.
Facilitate change and play a key role in promoting the developments and strategies required to sustain innovations in older person care.
Support the Director of nursing with strategic developments for the home.
Provide cross cover for Senior Nurses if required.
Be a member of the Senior Management team meetings providing leadership and direction for all clinical staff which results in the delivery of effective, efficient, quality assured and resident centred care.

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential

Excellent communication skills; capable of presenting to medical and non-medical staff, including:

Persons in Charge.
Senior Nursing Staff.
Carers.
Residents and families.
All Health and Social Care professionals.
Non Consultant Hospital Doctors.
Bed Managers.

Education

Essential:
Educated to degree level.
(Nursing Qualification or equivalent).
Experience in working in care of the elderly.
Completed training in Presentation Skills, Train the Trainer or similar.
