Director of Nursing Operations Manager Regional

This is an excellent opportunity for a Director of Nursing to step up to a Regional Manager Operations role.

The Regional Operations Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer

Role and Responsibilities:

* Oversee and ensure the quality and performance of the nursing homes within the designated region in Ireland to deliver safe quality care to all our residents. The regional manager will ensure that each role in the home understands their role and responsibility and accountability.
* Support the PIC (DON) in the delivery of quality safe care to the residents by having oversight through leading, supporting and the development of a quality management system within each home. This includes assurance that robust systems, policies, and procedures are implemented in the homes by:
o completing on the ground quality walkabouts
o review of audit findings, completion of audits
o review and analysis of Key Performance indicators - both clinical and non-clinical.
o Review of risk registers within the home, clinical, non-clinical and health and safety.
* Report directly to the CEO
* providing regular updates on the regional performance and addressing any challenges or opportunities.
* The Regional Operations Manager will be a HIQA Person Participating in Management for each home.
* The Regional Operations Manager will have a clear escalation process to the Executive leadership team regarding any issues relating to the care of residents or other operational issues within the home.
* Work towards the operational success of each nursing home, strategically managing resources and budgets to achieve sustainable operations.
* Continuously assess and improve operational efficiency, identifying areas for enhancement in service delivery
* Collaborate with Group Finance, HR, Facilities and Quality/Audit teams to streamline processes and ensure optimal support for each nursing home.
* Oversee and monitor Health & Safety in each home within the region.
* The Regional Operations Manager will have oversight and support the PIC in ensuring that residents rights are adhered to through:
o oversight of activities in the home in relation to residents' rights
o promotion of a person-centred approach to the care delivered to ensure it promotes health and wellbeing.
o ensuring the home meets the needs of each resident and safeguards each resident.
* Accurate timely collection, collation and analysis and oversight of meaningful quality data and audit findings and reports which are provided to the management team as and when appropriate ensuring improvement targets are set, reviewed, and met.
* The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the leadership of the home, in a style and manner consistent with the company's vision and values, ensuring the ever-changing needs of the resident's region/area are communicated at group level.
* Implement and uphold compliance with all regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of adherence to healthcare standards and guidelines.
* Motivate, mentor, and develop the Directors of Nursing (DON) in each home, facilitating their professional growth and ensuring a high standard of resident care.

* Lead, drive and support improvements and change programmes across the organisation.
* Ongoing identification of and negotiation with preferred suppliers to ensure quality of service and cost efficiencies.
* Work closely with the management team on the strategic plan development and implementation.
* Build and ensure compliance with all operational policies, procedures, and targets.
Finance and Budget Management
* Support the Directors of Nursing to efficiently manage the budget for each home to ensure optimal performance, this will be monitored on a monthly basis. The Regional Operations Manager will also assist with budget planning on an annual basis.

Essential

* Evidence of continuous professional development
* A BSc in a scientific or healthcare- related discipline or experience of over 10 years in the sector.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
* Demonstratable experience in budget management and management accounts (across multiple units/sites).

Desirable

* Ability to source both theoretical and technical information.
* Knowledge of organisation of health services and trends nationally and
internationally.
Proven ability to manage multi-site organisations and staff.
